A little bit about me

Alexa Phillips is a consultant, advisor, writer, and media builder on a mission to define what editorial leadership looks like in the next era of brand building to inform how brands build, communicate, and create meaning.

With a decade of experience spanning journalism, marketing, and media, Alexa has built editorial infrastructure for brands, founders, and organizations—from Microsoft and Shopify to emerging founder-led businesses—helping them shape perception, build credibility, and create meaning.

She is the founder of Bright Eyes Creative, a brand consulting practice that helps startups, mid-market, and enterprise brands build the communications infrastructure that enables them to show up consistently, credibly, and clearly. She is also a freelance writer who explores how the media we consume and create is a key driver in building culture and identity. And finally, she is the founder and editor of Culture Slant, a media company that covers how media, technology, and culture collide and what those shifts mean for the next era of tastemakers.

Alexa's work is rooted in a single belief: brands are cultural engines, and the ones that win are the ones that think like publishers. That editorial judgment—the ability to decide what matters, how it should be framed, and when it deserves attention—is the most underutilized competitive advantage in brand-building today. Everything she builds, writes, and teaches is in service of closing that gap. You can connect with her on LinkedIn, Threads, Instagram, and TikTok

I collaborate with brands, founders, media organizations, and cultural institutions on projects that value editorial judgment, narrative clarity, and long-term thinking.

My collaborations sit at the intersection of media, culture, and strategy. I work best with partners who see media as infrastructure, not just promotion—and who value coherence, taste, and thoughtful execution over volume or virality.
