EDITORIAL ENGINE BLUEPRINT

Turn your content into a compounding authority engine

Install the narrative infrastructure and operating system to produce, distribute, and scale content without starting from zero every time

Most brands think they have a volume problem, but they really have a system problem.

You’re publishing consistently. You have a team or an agency producing regularly. You have a calendar, a cadence, and a process that technically works.

Yet it’s not translating into authority, influence, or pipeline.

Because the issue isn’t effort. It’s the system behind the content.

There’s no clear narrative, no distinct point of view, and no belief system your audience can return to, so every piece starts from scratch instead of building toward something larger than itself.

Why your content isn’t compounding

  • You’ve tried hiring a new agency, expanding your content calendar, or refreshing the brand. But those decisions optimize output, not direction. More content doesn’t fix a lack of clarity. It just scales it.

  • Content feels scattered, reactive, and disconnected from larger initiatives. Posts don’t build on each other. Campaigns don’t extend beyond their moment. Nothing compounds because nothing connects.

  • Even when something works, there’s no system to repeat or build on it. No shared workflows. No clear ownership. No way to turn one idea into many. So momentum resets every time.

The brands winning right now aren't out-producing their competitors. They're out-thinking them.

They know what they stand for beyond their product. They have a point of view sharp enough to attract the right people and repel the wrong ones. They show up with the kind of editorial clarity that makes their ideal client feel like they've already been thinking along the same lines -- before a single sales conversation happens.

These brands don't just produce content. They operate like media entities. They shape taste, frame conversations, and influence how their audiences understand themselves, their industries, and the problems they're trying to solve.

The difference isn't budget or headcount. It's the narrative infrastructure underneath everything they publish. That's what turns a content operation into an authority engine.

Introducing The Editorial Engine Blueprint

A 6-phase method designed for founders and brands to turn content into a structured, scalable, and compounding asset.

You’re not just getting strategy, but an editorial infrastructure—the narrative, the system, and the operational machinery that keeps it running.

Phase 1: Audit

Diagnose gaps across narrative, content, and operations.

Assess how your content, messaging, and systems are currently working together and identify opportunities for improvement. Through an extensive listening tour with your stakeholders, we’ll analyze the performance of your existing content across channels, conduct a narrative gap analysis to see where you stack up against your competitors, and see where your operations are stalling progress.

Deliverable: Content program with recommendations for improvement

Phase 2: Define

Establish editorial authority and narrative ownership

Lock in the differentiated narrative and perspective your brand will own, and align it across your brand, products, founder story, and content. We’ll develop your editorial point of view, informed by audience insights, cultural conversations, industry trends, and your brand, founder, and product stories.

Deliverable: Messaging and positioning guide

Phase 3: Design

Build the structure of your content engine

Translate narrative into a connected ecosystem, so you know what to create, where it’ll live, and how every piece connects to the larger narrative, campaigns, and company goals. We’ll develop your platform and channel strategy, map your content across your customer journey and marketing funnel, build your editorial calendar, and create a distribution and amplification plan across brand touchpoints (sales, customer, product, demand gen, founder, etc.).

Deliverables: Content strategy, calendar, and distribution plan

Phase 4: Operationalize

Turn the system into a functioning machine

Install the workflows, tools, and processes to create a content center of excellence. Together, we’ll map your production workflow to build a personalized operating system, complete with tools and resources to execute consistently and seamlessly at scale.

Deliverables: Production SOPs, content brief templates, roles and responsibilities map, tool stack, and AI workflow integration

Phase 5: Produce

Activate the engine through high-leverage content

Generate content from inputs and scale it across channels repeatedly and consistently without starting from scratch. We’ll develop a content flywheel to guide repurposing and distribution, along with editorial and search guidelines to keep your content on-brand, optimized, and discoverable.

Deliverables: Content flywheel, repurposing and distribution system, editorial guidelines (voice, tone, style), SEO/AEO optimization guidelines, campaign framework, format library

Phase 6: Optimize

Turn content into a compounding growth asset

Analyze performance and feed insights back into the narrative, content, and strategy so each publishing cycle is better than the last. We’ll set up metrics and KPIs to assess your content performance relative to your broader marketing and company goals, and review them monthly. We’ll also set up a system to review, optimize, and plan your future content initiatives.

Deliverables: Performance dashboard, insight report, optimization roadmap, iteration plan

Who is this for?

  • Are you consistently creating content, but not seeing it translate into authority, influence, or pipeline?

  • Do you have ideas, a team, or external support, but no system to turn them into something structured, repeatable, and scalable?

  • Have you tried agencies, freelancers, or doing more, but still feel like nothing is actually compounding or moving the needle?

Hi, I’m Alexa

I’m an editorial strategist and operator who works at the intersection of content, brand, and media.

For the past several years, across my work with startups, enterprise teams, and founder-led brands, I kept seeing the same pattern: Content was being produced consistently, with teams, calendars, and campaigns in place, but nothing was compounding.

I realized that the issue wasn’t effort—it was structure.

Most teams don’t need more content. They need a system that connects what they believe, how they show up, and how their content actually works together over time.

That’s where my work sits.

I build the narrative infrastructure most brands have never actually constructed: Not content, not strategy documents, but a full editorial foundation and operational system that turns content into something more than output, but something that builds trust, shapes perception, and drives real business impact.

I bring three things no single hire or agency typically combines: the editorial thinking of a journalist to find the story and sharpen the point of view, the distribution mindset of a marketer to make sure it moves and reaches the right people, and the operator instincts of a media brand to build the system that makes it repeatable and scalable.

The result is a brand that stops producing content and starts building a body of work, with a point of view strong enough to define a category and position itself as the voice in its space, so that everything it publishes feels intentional, coherent, and compounding.

I’ve built editorial strategies and content systems for 20+ companies, from early-stage startups to global brands, helping teams increase brand authority, accelerate demand, and turn attention into measurable business outcomes.

FAQs

  • We’ll have 60-minute weekly calls to align on priorities, brainstorm, and have working sessions. Then, we’ll rely on async communication over email, Slack, and Loom for project feedback. Progress will be tracked in a project management tool and everything we implement will be integrated with your existing marketing and sales tools.

  • By the end of the engagement, you’ll have a fully built editorial engine.

    That includes:

    • A clear and differentiated narrative you can own in the market

    • A structured content system across your channels

    • A content operating system with workflows, templates, and processes

    • A repeatable way to produce, distribute, and scale content

    • A performance framework that connects content to authority and pipeline

    • Content that builds authority, not just awareness

You’re not walking away with a strategy document. You’re walking away with a system your team can actually run.

  • Expect 3-5 hours per week for working sessions and alignment, and occasional async feedback on key deliverables. The biggest lift is upfront, during the Audit and Define phases, when we meet with key stakeholders to get a sense of your current content landscape and to shape your narrative and point of view. After that, the process becomes more structured and efficient.

  • Authority and pipeline build over time, but the goal of this engagement is to put the system in place so results can compound, not reset every month.

    Milestones to expect:

Month 1: Clear narrative and direction

Month 2: System installed and running

Month 3: Content activated with early signs of momentum

To see full results, expect to wait 6-12 months (assuming everything remains consistent).

  • I will support initial content activation, but this is not a high-volume content production service. However, if you choose the retainer option, we can continue working together to produce and optimize your content program over time.

  • The engagement is $20,250 total ($6,750 per month for 3 months). After the initial engagement, we can continue on a retainer basis to help you run the engine (essentially a fractional Head of Content), starting at $6,750 per month, depending on scope of support.

You don't need more content.

You need a system that makes content work.
